I love this series! I watched Stairway to Heaven on VCD because I thought they would be shown on the same time, but thankfully, it didn’t happen. Anyways, main reason is I like Eugene (Sandy), and Ji Sung (Francis/Adrian) looks cuter in this one that what I remember from All In. But I think I like Stephen and Doctor Shin more. Hehe. I still don’t know the name of Stephen, basta, he also played Jun in Bright Girl. He always play antagonists. Lee Bo-young (Celine) is just super pretty! Her beauty is breath-taking. What a danger to KSS oppa, because they’re gonna have a series together. Tch. I like her though. I haven’t had a TV series to follow in a long time, I’m glad I tuned in to SYLDFM.

I’m doing recaps for this series on Tsinoy.com forum so I might as well post ‘em here. All recaps are made by me unless I say otherwise (in case I wasn’t able to watch and rely on other people’s recaps). The recaps will be in Taglish, since I’m most comfortable writing and speaking that way. Hehe. I would’ve wanted to translate everything in English but it’s just too time comsuming so I decided not to. I don’t like writing things twice. Hehe. I don’t even proof-read after writing. Hehe. Anyways, ill post the recaps here weekly because daily would be just impossible. (Italicized sentence in parentheses are my comments, sorry, cant help it.)

JAN 31, MONDAY

the series starts with sandy seeing off their newlywed guests to their honeymoon. (the couple stayed at their resthouse) after they left, she goes to clean the room where they stayed and sees the guy’s passport so she rushed to the airport to hand it to him.

francis is on a plane bound to korea. Stephen asked him to come home for the reason that he’s father’s sick. He then sees his dad on a news on TV, very much healthy and realizes that the whole sick thing is just a trick to make him come home. At the airport, francis tries to avoid Stephen, who was waiting for his arrival, but the latter still spots him. they play cat and mouse around the airport, francis bumps into sandy, (who just arrived at the airport) making her land on her butt. Of course, she’s pissed but francis just ignored him and continued running away. Stephen stops running after francis (he says it doesn’t matter because he knows where he’s going) to check on sandy, he helps her get back on her feet and says sorry on francis’ behalf. Sandy turns her back to leave but Stephen calls her and hands her the passport, which she dropped when she bumped into francis.

Francis goes to celine’s and they talk abut his whereabouts during the past 2 years. After that, they see Stephen outside, waiting for francis. Stephen brings francis to his dad. Dad tells him to prepare for a party that evening.

Sandy visits her friend jennifer who works at a hotel, the same hotel where the party (of francis’ family’s company) will be held.

Party time: (I don’t remember much actually. Ill try though.) francis gets introduced to everyone etc, some man who works at the company ridicules Stephen for working his butt off for the company but this francis guy will be given a higher position. (something like that) sandy sees celine at the ladies room and is just awestruck by her beauty. Jennifer tells her that celine is just so perfect – pretty and rich.

Lunch the following day, celine&family and francis&family, they meet to discuss celine and francis’ marriage. Francis tells celine’s parents that he’s into photography and asks them if they would accept a photographer to be their son-in-law. Celine’s parents turned quiet and francis says, “I guess not.” and walks out. Celine’s parents are disappointed, francis’ dad is outraged. Celine follows francis outside.

Car scene: celine and francis. Celine (I think, sorry if I don’t remember right) asks francis if he doesn’t want to marry her. francis takes off his bracelet and puts it on celine’s and promises her that he’ll marry her when he’s ready. Celine says she’ll wait for him.

Francis arrives at their house and his dad welcomes him with a slap on the face. He scolds him etc and trashes francis’ cameras and photos.

FEB 1, TUESDAY

We left off from the scene na francis’ father trashed his camera and photos so lumayas si francis, hinabol siya ng nanay niya pero di siya nagpahabol. Nung bumalik yung mom inside the house, sinisi siya ng sister ni francis kung baket nangyari ang lahat ng yon.

Meanwhile, sandy and her dad are at the hospital, having a check-up. Yung crush palang doctor ni sandy is her dad’s doctor. (nakakatawa si Eugene whenever she’s around the doctor. Haha.) after the check up, sandy was talking to herself na di niya nabigay yung gift niya etc tapos biglang nag-appear sa likod nila si doctor shin kase may nakalimutan atang sabihin. There goes sandy’s chance, she was aboit to give the gift na pero biglang nagkaron ng emergency, a nurse called doctor shin tapos nabangga si sandy ng nurse at tumilapon yung gift niya. Then we hear a cracking sound. Nabasag yung gift ni sandy.

Sa house naman ni francis’ dad, he tells Stephen to cut yung credit cards ni francis.

Back to francis, dumaan siya somewhere to withdraw money. (uhm , di pa siguro na-cut) may isang guy na minamatyagan siya outside. When he went to his car, the same guy is on the phone with someone, nagda-drama, obvious na pinaparinig niya yung conversation niya kay francis. Something like, “kawawa naman ako, walang maghahatid saken papunta sa ospital etc” so francis offered to help him.

Inside the car, parang nakakahalata na si francis kung baket ang layo naman nung hospital. Biglang naglabas ng knife yung guy, they got out of the car and the guy asked francis to give him his wallet and watch. Binigay niya tapos when the guy was pocketing the wallet, syempre nakatungo, nakakuha siya ng chance to fight, so ayan fight fight hanggang sa nasaksak nung guy si francis. Natuliro yung guy hanggang sa nilaglag niya dun sa bangin at umalis siya (taking francis’ car)

Tuliro pa rin yung guy while driving, he’s calling someone na tulungan daw siya etc kase napatay niya ata si francis (if you’re fast, you’ll prolly guess who’s behind it.) so he was on the phone at di niya nakita agad na there’s a truck approaching, nabangga yung car dun sa truck at nagkaron ng explosion.

Sa house ng family ni francis, his parents were sleeping ng may tumawag. The mom was the one who answered. Basically, the person n the other line told them na patay na si francis. Syempre di makapaniwala yung mom.

Sa hospital, andun yung buong family ni francis, I think andon din ata si Stephen. Pinakita sa kanila yung body pero in disbelief pa rin yung mom, hanggang sa pinakita sa kanila yung relo na bigay nung mom kay francis. The mom fainted. Paggising niya and she was lying on a hospital bed, sinisi niya si Robert (francis’ dad) sa pagkamatay ni francis.

Back to sandy and dad, driving pauwi na sila hanggang sa mag-appear sa harap ng car nila si francis who’s wobbling and duguan and dirty. They bring him to a hospital and nung nagkamalay si francis, he was being asked for his name and he couldn’t give them any information.

FEB 2, WEDNESDAY

episode 2 na ito.

kinausap nung doctor sina sandy and dad if pwedeng they take care of francis while he has amnesia, nagkaron daw ng hemorrhage sa left eye niya kaya temporarily he couldn’t remember anything, it might last for weeks daw. The doctor knows kase na may private resthouse sina sandy and dad and it might help francis regain his memory faster kase maganda yung ambiance (haha, imbento yata ako) anyways, sandy is super against this. Her dad told her na iwan muna sila ni doctor to talk. Punta siya dun sa room ni francis and she sees him na nag-aamok, parang naawa siya. (lol)

si celine naman, nalaman na niya na francis died, super devastated and iyak ng iyak. Nakita siya ni Stephen (sa house ata ito nina francis nangyari) at sinundan siya palabas. He tells her na iwan na lang yung car niya and he’ll take her home. Celine tells Stephen na sabihin daw sa kanya na everything is just a lie, that francis isn’t dead. Pero sabi ni Stephen, totoo ang lahat kase nakita niya yung body ni francis. Stephen hugged the bawling celine. He tells her pa to forget him na.

umuwi si celine sa house niya, still crying, she wouldn’t talk to anyone even her mom. She sees a pic of her and francis together and she remembers the scene sa car ni francis when he gave her the bracelet and promised her that he’ll marry her when he’s ready. Celine talks to francis’s picture, she said something like, “di ka mawawala sa puso ko, kung mawawala ka, puntahan mo ko at magpaalam ka.”

Back to francis at the hospital, nagtsitsismisan yung 2 nurses na kawawa naman daw yung nakapulot kay francis kase na-burden pa sila etc. di nila alam gising pala si francis and he heard everything.

Sandy is at her house when she received a call. She rushed to the hospital kse francis was nowhere to be found e di hanap niya si francis everywhere pero wala. Pinakita si francis na nasa rooftop na parang nagfa-flying without wings. (lol) Nakarating siya dun sa stairs going to the rooftop, sabi niya “sagot na nga namin pagpapagamot, pati ba naman libing?” umakyat siya sa rooftop pero wala dun si francis. Pagtingin ni sandy sa baba, may nakita siyang naglalakad na may benda sa ulo so feeling niya si francis yun. Eh di baba siya agad and when she approached the guy iba pala, she looks around at nakita niya din si francis, nakaupo dun sa may bus stop. Nag-away sila. (sorry couldn’t remember na masyado yung usap nila) basta yung ending, sumama raw sa kanya si francis kase babayaran na nila yung hospital bills niya. Sandy then calls her dad.

Next scene, pauwi na sila, kasama nila si francis who’s sitting sa likod. Nakakatawa sito si Eugene, as usual she’s talking to herself na naman, sabi niya, “feeling mo gwapo ka.”

Dating na sila sa resthouse, the dad brings francis to his room. Sandy naman is in the kitchen fixing something for dinner. (lol, actually she was chopping cucumbers) dumating yung mom ni jennifer at may dalang food. Para daw dun sa bisita nilang lalaking guwapo at maganda yung katawan. Sandy -> “Anong gwapo? Mukha kayang palaka.”

Dinner sila and celebrate daw para sa bagong kapamilya (plugging?) dad asks francis kung anong gusto niyang name. suggest ni jennifer’s mom -> WALNUT! (tawa ko ng tawa dito) then I think sandy was the one who suggested ADRIAN. So yun na ang name niya.

1 year later, managing director na si Stephen ng global (eto ata name ng company nina francis, wala na bang ibang name? eto rin name ng company nina songju sa stairway to heaven eh!)

FEB 3, THURSDAY

so ayan, 1 year later na. Stephen is now the managing director of global. After the board meeting, Robert (francis’s dad) praises Stephen for a a job well done. He also tells him that tomorrow will be francis’ 1 year death anniv.

Next scene, at francis’ grave, mom and celine cry to death.

Meanwhile, at sandy and dad’s resthouse, sandy is cleaning the rooms. She throws the blankets and bed sheets from the balcony and Adrian catches them. Sobrang sunod-sunod yung pagtapon ni sandy kaya nakakatawa.

They go to the market and buy fish. Sandy buys mackerel but Adrian objects because sandy’s dad doesn’t like that fish. Sandy insists because she knows it’s adrian’s favorite. She buys another type of fish that her dad likes. (I forgot the name of the fish, basta blankfish. Lol) Adrian scolds sandy, that she likes spending too much money. Sandy gets back at him by bringing up the past, that he changes towels everyday, he doesn’t turn off the lights and heater after use, he doesn’t eat the food they give him. ahjuma finishes wrapping up the fishes and asks them for a large anount of money to pay for the fishes. Sandy&adrian -> “ang mahal naman, ginto ba yan? Sa inyo na lang isda niyo!” they left the stall, holding hands, they see jennifer’s mom and breaks free from each other’s hands. Jennifer’s mom tells them that anyone who sees them would say they’re siblings because they look alike. (this part is funny.)

After market, punta silang bookstore. Sandy needs to pick up a book she ordered. Adrian looks around and sees a book about his father. (but of course, he doesn’t know it’s his father.) he sees a book about photography and smiles, but puts it back in the rack when he sees the price. Meanwhile, sandy sees a poster of beauty and the beast and seems interested, but seeing the high prices of the ticket, she decides to drop it. a guy (he’s cute!) enters the bookstore and mistakes Adrian for someone else. adrian kulits the guy because he might be of help in getting his memory back, the guy gets irritated at him. sandy sees this and tells the guy that he shouldn’t act like that. The guy pushes sandy and heads for the door. Sandy stands up fast and smacks the guy in the head with her wallet. The guy gets even madder and pushes her again. francis runs to her to see if she’s okay, but sandy’s head hurt so much.

Home: francis treats sandy’s wound and puts a bandaid on it. cute nung scene nung sinabi ni sandy na “hipan mo.” Adrian tells sandy that she shouldn’t have fought with the guy because it was his own fault anyways. Sandy tells him, “ikaw na nga pinagtanggol ko, ako pa sinsermunan mo.” (can anyone tell me what’s with HAIRPIN part? I didn’t get that.) doctor shin was brought up, Adrian asks sandy why she likes him.

Bathroom: francis and sandy brushing their teeth. Sandy enumerates the reasons why she likes doctor shin – he looks good daw in his white uniform, pag nakapamulsa etc, (yun lang naalala ko sorry!) Adrian asks her if she just likes because of how he looks on the outside. Sandy says no, it’s not just because of his outside looks but also because he loves her dad and takes care of him. Adrian convinces sandy to tell doctor shin how she feels before it’s too late. Sandy -> if it doesn’t work out with doctor shin daw, si Adrian na lang mag-alaga sa kanya, kung gusto mo pa mabuhay.

Following morning, an old man visits fernan (we find out sandy’s dad’s name!) urging him to sell his land just like everyone else to give way to the industrial complex. (the same industrial complex of global no?)

During dinner, sandy tells dad her plans for their resthouse but his mind seems to be somewhere else. dad tells sandy about the selling, sandy is totally opposed to it. Adrian says that it would be practical to just sell it. sandy gets mad at Adrian, telling him that he shouldn’t butt in because it’s none of his business. Basically, they argue, dad gets mad at sandy’s attitude and leave sthe table. Adrian and sandy are left to argue even more. Sandy tells Adrian that he shouldn’t butt in in their problems kase hindi naman daw siya ang pagbabayarin niya ng mga utang nila. Adrian is disappointed kase akala  niya na he’s considered family na having lived there for a year, he answers sarcastically na he should rejoice kase wla siyang babayarang utang.

Sandy computes & budgets in the dark, her dad sees her. dad tells sandy that he knows that sandy is carrying most of their money problems and so he decides to sell the land. Sandy tells her dad that if there really is no other choice, then she’ll support his decision.

FEB 4, FRIDAY (credits to dee @ tsinoy)

pupunta si sandy sa hospital para punthan si doc at kunin ang mga medicine ng kanyang dad. pinasama nman ni dad si adrian/francis kay sandy dhil nga daw minsan masakit ang ulo. (pero the way na naiintindihan ko s expression ng dad ni sandy, parang kunyari lang n masakit ang ulo ni francis, pra masamahan lang si sandy) parang tinuruan ni francis kung paano i-aaproach ni sandy si doc.

sa hospital:

pumasok si sandy s bathroom smantla si francis ay nasa labas naghihintay. may dlwa nurse na papasok s restroom na nakita si francis. pagpasok sa restroom pinagusapan nila si francis na syang narinig ni sandy. medyo hindi maganda ang sinabi nila kaya naiinis si sandy at sinabi ang dumi nman ng restroom na ito kaya dpat maglinis. winalis nya (in action) yung dlawang nurse

kinausap ni sandy si doc at sinabi lunch time na, yayain nya sana ito pero naunahan sya nung nurse. (si francis nman ay nakasilip at nakikinig s convsersation) aalis na sna si sandy na disappointed ng biglang pumasok si francis at sinabi sabay sabay na sila lahat na kumain dahil gutom na sya.

sa canteen.

binenta ni francis si sandy kay doc, kesyo mabait daw ito. napansin ni nurse na may make-up si sandy. mega benta na naman si francis. si doc ngiti lang sya.

nagkita si stephen at si celine (tama nga ba). (wala pa nman sinasabi na sila na pero prang meron n or something sa knila dalawa, pero clear parin na mahl parin ni celine si francis). at hinatid ni stephen si celine sa bhay na sya nakita ng mommy ni francis. at medyo umasim ang mukha nito. ihahatid sya sana ni stephen pero umayw ito. pagdating s bhay nila galit na galit ito at sinabi sa asawa nya bakit daw ganun isang taon plang nawala si francis pnalitan n ni celine si francis at kay stephen p. sabi ni tatay si stephen daw ang dhilan bakit sila kumikita ngayon or something.

bookstore:

bibili si francis nung book s photography, pero nakita nya yung musical poster. so instead n bilhin yung book yung tickets nlang (last daw nlang yung show) kasi naalala nya si sandy na gusto iyon. nung umuwi sya na masaya na dala ang tickets, sya nman nakita nya si doc na kina sa sandy.

kina sandy:

naglalaba si sandy nung dumating si doc. tinanong ni doc kay tatay kung pwede yayain lumabas si sandy. sabi ni tatay si sandy ang tanungin, siempre pwede si sandy. at sya pagdating ni francis/adrian at nlaman nya na may date na si sandy. di nlang nya sinabi ang tubgkol s tickets. tinulungan nya ito pumili ng dami isusuot sa date.

mag-isa s bhay si adrian. at sinabi hindi man tumawag si sandy kung kumain na ang tatay nito.

sa date:

tinawagan ni sandy si francis at tinanong ang tatay nya. sabi ni francis na kina mrs.---- at dun na kakain. sabi ni sandy kung pinaalala nya ba ito ang gamot at kung si adrian daw kumain nba or gusto nya ito ibili ng food.

habang kumakain sila ng pizza ni doc, bigla sinabi ni doc, nakalimutan nya na hindi pla kumakain si sandy ng ---(seafood or garlic, sorry nakalimutan ko na). pano daw alam ni doc, sinabi daw ni adrian.
